John McCain, one of the most experienced foreign policy hands in the country, will get his opportunity to showcase his wide array of knowledge on these issues while Barack Obama will be lucky to keep up.
As McCain says, he's ready to lead and Obama isn't. So, that means McCain should debate circles around his opponent. I mean, that's what being ready is all about, right? Having the judgment and wisdom to hit the ground running?
In addition, McCain is simply better at debating: we saw during the primaries how McCain would clean the clocks of the other GOP canidates, regularly schooling Mitt Romney so hard that the governor would be reduced to hurt-looking scowls. In contrast, Obama was regularly bested by Hillary, with debating repeatedly noted as one of his lesser skills. And even in the general, we've already seen McCain be deemed the "winner" of the question-and-answer setting at Saddleback, so it's only natural to believe McCain will best Obama again in a similar format.
